THIS WEEK TRENT TALK TURNS 1! HOW EXCITING! It's been a real great year and we're stoked that you spent it with us. In honor of that we decided to do something real goofy and dumb. WE ALSO HAVE A DRINKING GAME! For every time Clare bonks her headphones or beer bottle on the mic, take a drink. When she gets really angry about it, take a shot. ENJOY!
This week we talk about The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo with our pal Jordan Scott! We're stoked to have Jordan back.
Once again, this is more or less a synopsis of the movie on top of the soundtrack. Contains 100% spoilers, so if you haven't watched the movie and still want to, probably don't listen to this episode first. Also, Clare could have done a much better job with Swedish pronunciations, and with knowing that Hedested is a fictional location, but c'est la vie!
Check out Jordan;s show Nerd's Eye View! Find him on Twitter: @TrueValk. Find more Trent Talk on Twitter and Facebook, and get weird on Twitter with Clare, Cheya. In this week's episode of Trent Talk we discuss The Social Network, a film by David Fincher for which Trent Reznor did the soundtrack. Joining us is one of the founding members of the Benview Network, Matt Benson!
We spend more time discussing the movie than we do the music itself, which is a deviation from our business, as usual.
This week we finally get to dive into the first release of How To Destroy Angels, and we also spend a little time listening to some memorable tracks of Bowie's to celebrate his birthday (January 8th) and deathday (January 10th).
Listener Robbie Corrie sent us a really great, thoughtful email that asked an important question: What's the future of Trent Talk?
It'sbeenawhiiile since we've talked about a full length NIN release that wasn't just instrumentals, so let's get down and dirty with The Slip!
Cheya brings back the Imprezion, which obviously you don't wanna miss, and he talks briefly about The Lights In The Sky Tour.
Also, of course Not The Actual Events EP was released recently, and although we do want to do this in order, of course we're gonna gush a little about this!
Although this isn't an official NIN release, the work Trent did on The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! by Saul Williams is so clear that we would be damn fools if we didn't talk about this one.
Because the subject matter is a lot more serious & personal that NIN albums, so is the tone of this episode. Saul Williams talks a lot about race, and being black in America, which are topics that we, two white people, can't relate to in the same way. We do our best to pick apart and understand some of the greater meanings and we hope you enjoy this as much as we have.
Here is the video from the intro & outro clips:
In the conclusion of our Ghosts Chat™, we read some creepy pasta, we looked up haunted eBay items, we checked out a couple urban legends, Clare forced a Meathead Perspective reading on us. Oh yeah, and we listened to the second half of Ghosts!
OH SHIT. OH FUCK. WE'RE BACK AND WE'RE WEIRDER THAN EVER (jk we're the same amount of weird.) Join us on this monumentous occasion as we discuss Ghosts I-II, read Ghosts reviews from various Internet sources & then for funsies, look up literature on DeviantArt that's tagged "nine inch nails". IT. IS. A. DOOZY.
One more audio file is recovered from our heroes, with a possible hint as to what happened to them.
Clare & Cheya discuss Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D, as well as MySpace pages and more!
In this very special bonus episode, Clare & Cheya chat with Brandon Dusseau, who created NIN Wiki. (And who happens to be pals with Clare.) This is the nerdiest shit Trent Talk has done so far. Enjoy!
Find Brandon on Twitter @Malechite.

Join us on Trent Talk Talk, where we listen back to the last known recordings of Trent Talk, a podcast by Clare and Cheya. After Clare found a mysterious USB drive & communicated with a creepy hologram named Josh, they just...disappeared? Oh, and they talk about Year Zero.
Jonald Wilkinson (AKA Toothy) & Piggy Ramirez.

Shout out to Veronica! Big ups to Josh Wiley for the notes & super rad intro!
This week we slow things down a little and have a brief convo about Survivalism, which is Halo 23! We also mention cheese curds, hypocrisies in the Disney universe, and Clare's love of space - which we discuss because of the new song that Trent and Atticus Ross have released for the Juno spacecraft (video below)!
You also hear a little bit about our favorite lovely little Icelandic lady.
Here's the video for the song Trent, Atticus, Apple Music & NASA did for Juno:
The ad in this episode is for our pal's show Nerd's Eye View. Check it out!
This week we watch and talk about the Beside You In Time DVD. It was a very fun time. We talk a lot of shit about Aaron North, but we're sure he's a nice guy (or whatever). Also Ooh La La, Alessandro is in prime QT mode.
We read a couple of fun interviews from the boys on tour, and we asked some really hard hitting questions, including: WHICH POKEMON IS TRENT REZNOR throughout his entire evolution???
This is a fun ep. We're way too sleepy. Tune in and let's party.
In case you are wondering which Vine Clare mentioned, it's this one and it's perfect.
This week we discuss the singles Only & Everyday Is Exactly The Same, two albums that have a lot of the same songs on them. Too many remixes.
We also discuss seeing Marilyn Manson live (lol), Slayer, Guns N Roses (and their horrible album titles), and Ren & Stimpy. Because why not? Oh, and Clare gives you a trip hop lesson (which I feel like we've done before, but we love talking about this shit so, buckle up and let us tell you again.)
Watch the video for Love Is Not Enough*:
And watch our favorite spaghetti vine!
Speaking of spaghetti, check out this week's recommended podcast Midnight Marinara.
We're on new audio equipment, so pardon Clare's vocals being too loud (as usual, though.) Enjoy this experimental ride that we're on!
As always, please please rate & review us on iTunes! A 5 star rating helps other people find our podcast and we love that. You are why we do this. We want to hear from more of you. Also feel free to join the conversation on Facebook & Twitter! We'll see you there.
*Clare said that the timing for the vocals in this performance was different from the album version, but it's definitely not. It just sounded that way in her headphones. Sorry for being a dumb dumb.
We discuss With Teeth - the album we all expected to hate, but left feeling a little differently.
Clare breaks out her Tig Notaro "Little Suitcase" voice, we find some incredible Trent Reznor fan art, Cheya teaches us about Mondegreens, we mentioned our favorite Icelandic heart throb's career and we make sure not to leave out one of Clare's favorite NIN songs: Home.
"Listen to this episode to find out what means that." -- Cheya describing Mondegreens.
We also tallied our Teeth count at the end and wound up giving this album 18 out of 26 teeth! (17 + an impacted molar.) Not too bad.
Listen to/watch Home here.
Here are those amazing fan art pics we found and discussed:
And a BONUS fan art picture that we just found, by Sasha Softpaw:
We're back and ready to party! What better way to party than by starting this episode off with a drinking game? Clare is sick once more, so let's have some fun: Every time she has a muffled cough, we take a drink. Every time she coughs loudly, like an idiot, we take a shot. Ready your bevs and let's get started.
We discuss The Hand That Feeds for a while, we mention a little of Trent's personal history that we only skirted over in the past, in greater detail, we discuss a current copyright infringement petition that Trent is a part of, and we close out the show listening to a track we really love by a band that's not Nine Inch Nails.
This week we STILL discuss the And All That Could Have Been Still CD/DVD set, talking about Still. We also discuss Deep, movie sheboots, and Clare rewrites a Metallica song. We also rant about guns a little, in light of the recent Orlando shooting. Sorry, not sorry!
This week we discuss AOL chat names, Kid Pix, LiveJournal, and the album And All That Could Have Been.
WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO FIND?! We scoured the Internet, in hopes of a copy to view/steal, but were left with watching this on YouTube. Some videos don't contain sound? We did our best to find the most comprehensive list of links.
HI OOPS WE FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT QUAKE BACK WHEN WE WERE IN 1996, and also Clare has been too busy to record, so we're going to ramble about this for a minute instead of talking about And All That Could Have Been. We'll get to that soon (in a few days.)
We also discuss Game of Thrones, other video games, what we've been up to for a bit, Ed Gein, and New Kids on the Block. TUNE IN!
Here is the YouTube link to the Quake soundtrack. Enjoy!
